The BASS program will expose students to several areas of science. The main goal of this summer program is to allow students an opportunity to participate in inquiry based learning. They will work in small groups to design their own experiment to test an aspect of science. Students will be encouraged to take their projects started in the BASS program and continue to develop and complete them for the science fair during the school year. Each day of the week, we will also teach 1-2 modules on different aspects of the wetlands, such as water quality, plankton, aquatic plants, invertebrates, and vertebrates.
IMPORTANT NOTE: BASS is NOT a recreation program. It is focused on exploring different areas of science with the purpose of finding a project that will be developed into a science fair project for next the school year.
